The Mavera Youth Community, operating within the Faculty of Theology, organized an event themed "Ramadan Street" to share the spiritual atmosphere of Ramadan with students and the academic community. The event, held on the faculty campus, saw a large student turnout. During the program, our Faculty Dean, Prof. Dr. Abdullah Hikmet Atan, gave a speech, thanking the students who contributed to the organization and emphasizing the virtues of Ramadan in individual and social life, and the importance of sharing and solidarity. He stated that Ramadan is not only a month of worship but also a period of education and contemplation where moral sensitivities are strengthened. The event was also visited by our Rector, Prof. Dr. İsmail Boz; the Rector spoke with the students, observed the activities firsthand, and expressed his satisfaction with the organization. This visit was significant as it demonstrated institutional support for the event and the encouragement of student activities. Various stands prepared by the students were presented to visitors as part of the Ramadan Street event. Sweets made by the students were offered to the guests attending the event, and traditional Ramadan sherbet, reflecting the culture of Ramadan, was also distributed.
One of the most striking aspects of the event was the Palestine-themed corner. This section displayed photographs depicting the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza, the problem of hunger, and the attacks suffered by the civilian population; informative content aimed at raising awareness among visitors was also presented.
In addition, a corner featuring the names of the Companions of the Prophet was prepared; the names of different Companions were displayed in aesthetically pleasing calligraphy. Another corner dedicated to important and distinguished figures of Islamic history featured the names and images of some personalities, aiming to instill historical awareness in visitors. Overall, the "Ramadan Street" event was considered an important activity in terms of preserving religious and cultural heritage, developing a sense of social responsibility among students, and making the spiritual values of Ramadan visible in the academic environment. This event, organized by the Mavera Youth Community, serves as an exemplary organization within the university that addresses cultural, religious, and humanitarian sensitivities together.
